Safety Smart Broiler Chicken Farming Award APPLICATION

This Safety in Broiler Chicken Farming Award will recognise the individual(s) or business who have actively undertaken initiatives to promote improvements in safety on broiler chicken farms. This can include tangible improvements, specific safety initiatives, or a change in practice and/or safety culture.  

The prize of $5000 will be awarded to the best initiative by a panel including WHS representatives from the industry. 

 About the Award: 

The Safety Smart Award is open to individuals and businesses in the broiler chicken farming industry.  

 Nominations are invited from those who have actively undertaken initiatives to promote improvements in safety on broiler chicken farms. This can include tangible improvements, specific safety initiatives, or a change in practice and/or safety culture.  

 The winning applicant will receive $5,000.

ProTen will sponsor this award for every year for three years, after which the program will be reviewed. 

Judges will consider:

1. Whether the initiative addresses a core WHS issue

2.  How the initiative could benefit the wider poultry sector

3. Whether the initiative supports ongoing positive safety practice change

4. Evidence of ongoing investment in WHS
