Chicken Meat Program of RIRDC
The Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation is a Commonwealth Government sponsored organisation dedicated to the support of Australian rural industries, both existing and emerging. For detailed information on projects supported by the Chicken Meat Program see the RIRDC website.
This research program is aimed at funding research of direct benefit to the chicken meat industry. The selection of projects is undertaken by the Chicken Meat Research Advisory Committee, whose membership is largely made up senior veterinary and technical people from our industry. The Program management is provided by the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, under a contract with RIRDC. Applications for funding are called publicly once a year and total funding available is around 2.5m, with half of this amount being provided by the industry through a levy and the other half by the Australian Government.
Outcomes of R&D Projects supported under the Chicken Meat Program
New reports, fact sheets, guidelines and other tools for industry are being developed all the time, and are constantly being added to the Chicken Meat Program materials available on the RIRDC website.
