The video was produced by Michael van Drempt (contact him) who was a finalist and winner in the 2008 The University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Schools Prize which is part of the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes, Australia's most comprehensive science awards. The ABC Science website explains it like this: The idea is to communicate a scientific concept(s) in a way that is accessible and entertaining while painlessly increasing the public's science knowledge or, as the Sleek Geeks like to say: "Learn something without even noticing".
Michael was the winner of the University Student section with his video "A fundamental Misunderstanding". This fast-paced animation takes a light-hearted look at a pretty heavy topic - the evolution of our understanding of the fundamental make-up of our universe. It will leave you gasping for breath, says the commentary on the ABC Science site.
Taking up the challenge of Sam Niell making fun of chickens to promote red meat and Sam Kekovich appearing year after year on Australia Day to promote lamb, we asked Michael van Drempt to tackle head-on some of the misguided beliefs held by so many Australians regarding chicken.
