Import Risk Analysis (IRA) for Chicken Meat
In January 2009, the process of the generic chicken meat Import Risk Analysis (IRA) undertaken by the Australian Government's Biosecurity Australia, came to its final conclusion.
The Draft Final Report was issued on 31 October 2008. It is available, together with all the documents leading up to its finalisation, at http://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity/risk-analysis/ira/final-animal/chicken-meat.
On 15 January 2009, IRA Appeals Panel advised appellants that all appeal claims have been disallowed.
Consequently, the Director of Animal and Plant Quarantine issued the import protocol for chicken meat in accordance with the IRA Final Report on 3 March 2009 which is available at http://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity/risk-analysis/ira/final-animal/chicken-meat.
